CRL Black 777 Butyl Rubber Sealant, 6 - 11 Fluid Ounce Cartridges

CRL 777 Butyl Rubber is a unique, butyl-based sealant specifically formulated using a blend of age-resistant polymers to provide excellent weathering properties at various temperature extremes. Offering excellent adhesion to most clean surfaces, CRL 777 can withstand joint movement of ±10% without affecting its water-tightness. It also features a special ultraviolet fighting agent for exceptional service life.

Recommended for exterior applications, CRL 777 Butyl Rubber Sealant demonstrates excellent adhesion to wood, masonry, glass, concrete, some plastics, and metal surfaces. Hidden areas, such as under sill cans, thresholds, and around screw heads, are excellent applications for this sealant. Other areas, such as between metal building panels, wall-mounted air conditioning units, under aluminum siding and gutters, are also suitable for the proven performance of butyl sealants.

The application temperature range for CRL 777 is 40°F to 120°F (4°C to 49°C), and the service temperature range is -20°F to 200°F (-29°C to 93°C). The paint time is 24 hours.

However, CRL 777 is not recommended for use in sealing horizontal decks, patios, driveways, or terrace joints where abrasion or physical abuse may occur. It is also not recommended for use in window glazing applications or hidden joint details that require a non-skinning, non-hardening sealant. As CRL 777 has a solvent-based curing system, a slight odor of mineral spirits will be detected during application, which is normal. The product should not be used where this odor may be objectionable, such as in refrigeration units that will be stocked soon after construction.
